He Is Able

Greif hit today.
Then momentary rage.
For many things… Things too hard to flesh out right now.
In truth, I’m weary of ‘fleshing’… I want to just focus on… anything else really.
Then I remembered… Or rather was gently reminded. That still small voice… The One who gently corrects. The One who calls me an heir… The One who allowed this miraculous “grafting in.”
He holds my tears.
They didn’t go unnoticed.
Not then. Not now.
Not tomorrow.
He never promised to explain the purpose of the pain.
But He does promise beauty from ashes… Time and again. He promises to hold the broken…
As He heals them.
They don’t stay broken… Not in His hands.
And they don’t become robotically new….
I’m so very very glad we don’t become new without memory!
Through each and every struggle we are brought closer into the faith of our ancestors... We become daily more polished… Refined… Humble.
To walk in humility is such an incredible command He’s given to us as His children! It benefits all... and is no easy task!
He has told you, mortal one, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you.
But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6
I’m thankful that while He may erase our sins… He allows us to remember. And doesn’t allow us to wallow either… But rather know and remember, in order to give honor to the
One who is merciful and just, slow to anger… Quick to forgive.
May we not forget… Lest we repeat that brokenness in an endless cycle... generation to generation.
For I know my wrongdoings,
And my sin is constantly before me.
Against You, You only, I have sinned
And done what is evil in Your sight,
So that You are justified when You speak
And blameless when You judge.
Psalm 51
Were it not for acknowledgement of the grievance against the Lord… David never would have penned such a beloved Psalm. There could not have been complete healing… If an action that was done purposefully and with intent iwas never acknowledged… But covered up and made excuses for.
Such behavior allows cancer to grow, and it is a hateful thing to allow people to rot from the inside out when forgiveness is possible for them too. Healing... True healing.... Is possible.
Please give me a heart of love for those who are made in Your image, Oh God. Even when I don’t agree... Even when we don’t see eye to eye....Teach me to forgive and keep my heart humble before You. And remind me that righteous anger in the face of evil is appropriate too... Teach me again. Please teach me again! Teach me again when to speak... And if it's not spoken in love... Teach me to be silent.
Thank you for the grief… thank you for the momentary anger… It directs me where to dig deeper and search Your will for my life. It shows me where the wounds still exist. And where I need to forgive… again.
Thank you for instilling a passion for truth within your creation. Thank You for demanding honesty… and for the justice that WILL one day come for the oppressed and hurting… Father please restore righteousness to this land… Please…
And until You do…
Please remind us to be strong in doing the work assigned to us… Loving You with our whole being… and loving our neighbors AS OUR OWN SELVES…. (In this ‘me first’ day and age… That’s a LOT of self love to be replicated and given away freely… Wow! What a world this would be if we just did those 2 things!!!)
Thank you for drawing us close and bringing peace when the world seems upside down.
And thank you for the healing you’re bringing to our family. All things ARE INDEED possible! All praise to You alone! You are worthy to be praised!
Thankful… SO THANKFUL for Shabbat. Ready to rest… Recharge… and Hear Your Voice! From our family to yours… Shabbat shalom. 😊
